The Annual Luling Watermelon Thump

The Watermelon Thump is held in Luling, Texas every year during the last weekend of June. It is something we attend every year and has become a tradition in our family. We stayed with Chad's parents Friday night and then went home on Saturday evening. We watched the parade and went to the grounds to ride rides and play games and well...sweat! The kids left there saying that they had a blast...and that is all that matters to us!! It is always wonderful to spend time with family!!!

Swim Lessons

The girls ended their last day of swim lessons with a trip down the water slides at the Kyle pool. They spent the last 2 weeks here every morning learning in their individual classes. Carigan passed her Preschool class and Camille passed her Level 1 class with flying colors. I was not sure, going in, how much they would get out of these classes, but the teachers were able to get them to do more in the water on the first day than Chad and I were ever able to. The girls loved it and are really doing well in the water. This will become something the girls will do every year in the summer from here on out.

Galveston

Our first beach trip of the summer was spent with my parents in Galveston. Camille loved jumping the waves and Carigan spent most of her time in the sand.

Good Bye MJ

I have wonderful childhood memories of trying to do the moonwalk and all the other very precise dance moves that Micheal Jackson was so famous for. My favorites are Beat it, Thriller and Billie Jean just to name a few. I won't try and understand all the craziness that went on in his life, but I do give him credit for a lot of fun dancing and singing in my own personal childhood, including the wonderful parody "Eat it" by Weird Al Yankovic. The 80s wouldn't have been the same without Micheal Jackson!!! My heart goes out to his family, especially to his children.

We took the kids to see "Up" in 3D the day it came out! We all enjoyed it very much! It was so sweet and very funny. I recommend it to every family! It makes you want to go out and do the things you always said you would do!
