Approaching Three Decades!

Okay, I’m turning 30 this year and it has caused me to reflect back on the last three decades and I became amazed at how long I have been here on earth. THREE DECADES PEOPLE! Even more amazing is that I have known Chad half of my life. We were barely teenagers when we met for the first time. Even cuter is that Chad remembers, to this day, what I was wearing and where we were when he first laid eyes on me. That is pretty cool to think about.

So many things have changed over the years. My tastes buds are different. I used to hate tomatoes and last year we grew them in our backyard. It was cool to have them at an arms reach. They are so good when you finely slice them and eat them on top of ALL BRAN crackers covered in whipped cream cheese. I used to be a DR Pepper and Doritos girl. Now I eat “fiber” crackers, grapes, laughing cow cheese spread, and I have a crazy love affair with the olive bar. I would have never eaten an olive a few years ago. Now I love black pitted olives off the olive bar at HEB. I love cooking when I have the time now. I shutter to think of what we ate when we first got married.

I also used to be very active in sports as well. I used to run!!! I was a pretty good basketball player too. Not bad at volleyball either. I was so thin that clothes didn’t fit me right…what the heck happened. Now I am soft all over, bruise easily, and my joints come out of socket. When I throw a basketball around now, I am sore the next day. I actually bruised my finger catching a football. A few years ago we had ambitions of joining a gym. Chad met with a trainer for an evaluation and the trainer told Chad that he was a skinny, fat person. He had him lifting weights with his legs and when my sweet hubby came home he could hardly walk!

So, because of all the reflecting…I have decided that I am putting priorities back in line. Chad and I got a cross-trainer at Christmas this year and we plan on whipping back into shape. Next spring will be Chad and I’s 10 year anniversary and I want to look better than I did when we got married. We always said we would go on a trip then and it is coming up sooner than I thought it would.

Wish us the best!
